Images by Vanessa was founded in 2007 with a single point-and-shoot camera and a vision rooted in storytelling. What began as a dream has grown into a creative business I deeply love—one centered on capturing authentic human expression and the beauty of lived experience.

I am drawn to the way people internalize their experiences and reveal them back to the world, often symbolically rather than deliberately. My work is driven by a desire to photograph life as it unfolds, allowing each subject’s natural expression to guide the image. Through still photography, I aim to create timeless pieces that are treasured for years.

My creative focus explores self-perception, internal narratives, and the moments we fixate on—particularly how individuals see themselves and how those reflections surface visually. I am especially inspired by people and their expressions of life. As I’ve come to recognize my own idealized self-concepts mirrored in others, my work has become a powerful means of personal and artistic expression. At times, I create dramatic scenes using props, characters, and bold color palettes to emphasize symbolism and convey various emotional and psychological states of the idealized self.

In my most recent work, I have expanded my focus to include women, men, children, and events. I create striking, emotive images that honor each subject’s unique mood and presence, with a commitment to capturing moments that are genuine, expressive, and true.
